Party City had been investing heavily in FSIs (Free Standing Inserts) in newspapers for their Atlanta stores, and began to see a significant downturn in sales, with not as much lift in items promoted. We suggested terrestrial radio as a new way to reach their target market. This medium allowed us to “create the perfect party” in the mind of the listener, and have a little fun with it as well. We created a condition called, “Party Anxiety” for people who suffered from intense pressure to throw a party that everyone would enjoy. The campaign launched across the Atlanta market (their 3rd largest at the time), and they recognized an average uptick in sales of 26% YOY. The disruptive spots not only drove awareness, but sales of the specific items mentioned at the end grew as well.
