Just when my “10 Celebrity Blood Types That Might Surprise You” site is about to go live, Google decides it’s time to update their search engine to crack down on “SEO-first” (or clickbait) content AGAIN. Google will be releasing a series of updates this month to improve the quality and authenticity of its results. Content that is original and helpful will be prioritized in search ranking over content that is designed to get clicks rather than address the needs of readers. Authentic entertainment, shopping, tech and “how-to” style searches are expected to benefit from this. So, a weekly, marketing newsletter should be fine, right?
