Nestle’s Artificial Bestie

The year is 2022. What began as Nestle’s attempt to help people with their cookie recipes has turned into a near extinction of the human race at the hands of a cold, heartless AI bot… that also happens to be good at baking. Okay let’s backtrack a bit. Earlier this month the food monolith Nestle created a virtual cookie coach, Ruth, that uses artificial intelligence to answer customer’s questions about their Toll House cookie recipe. The idea was crafted after Nestle audited their call center and found that 70% of all questions were about this particular recipe. Now with approval rates as high as 84%, it looks like Ruth is becoming pretty charismatic. Now just think… is it a cookie? Or is it a disc of immobility designed to keep the human race docile.
